Mumbai: Shamina Alva of Kenchanakere has received the prestigious Aryabhata award 2014-15 in recognition of her contribution to various fields of society.
The award was presented to her at a function held at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on Aug 9 by several dignitaries.
Shamina Alva is the founder-president of the women’s wing of Mulki Buntara Sangha. She has served as the office-bearer of various associations and organizations. She has been the secretary of the alumni/alumnae association of Vijaya College, Mulki and founder-secretary of Kinnigoli Inner Wheel Club.
Presently, she is the vice president of the Madeline High School Alumni Association and member of the executive committee of the Mulki Buntara Sangha.
