Shri Devi Friends’ Circle felicitates Corona Warriors, distributes kits

Mangaluru: Shri Devi Friends’ Circle of Pachanady ward in association with Shri Devi Matr Mandali and the local donors held a felicitation ceremony for 27 Corona warriors of the ward and also distributed grocery kits. The programme was held at the Shri Devi Friends’ Circle Hall, Devinagar, Pachanady here.

The event was inaugurated by guests such as Mohan Pachanady, Honorary President of Shri Devi Friends’ Circle, Rajesh Kulal, President, Shivappa Santhoshnagar, Social Worker, Bhavya, officer from Women and Child Welfare Department and Assistant Sub-inspector Harish of Rural Police Station.

Speaking at the programme, Mohan Pachanady said that the Corona Warriors are the main reason why Corona has been brought under control. It may be police personnel or doctors, nurses, health department officials, ASHA workers or Anganwadi workers who are out there amid public and on the streets fighting against Corona. Not only will they get God’s blessings but are lauded by the public. Therefore, it is the duty of civil society to respect them. In this regard, Shri Devi Friends’ Circle along with Shri Devi Matr Mandali and generous donors decided to honour Corona warriors on behalf Pachanady citizens, he added.

On the occasion, Shivappa Pachanady said that if the vaccination programmes are held in Anganwadi Centres in the coming days it would be of great help to the public. We will fully cooperate in this regard, he assured.

ASI Harish called upon the public to follow Corona guidelines for protection of self and others.

Women and Child Welfare Department officer Bhavya said, “ASHA and Anganwadi workers who faced public wrath during their Corona awareness and aid programmes will be motivated by such recognition. We are grateful for such social service organisations who are holding such meaningful events, she added.

Local Anganwadi worker Harinakshi Teacher expressed her gratitude to the organisation for looking into their problems.

In all 27 Corona Warriors under Pachanady ward were felicitated draping a shawl and distribution of kits by the guests.

Balakrishna Toipakkal provided nutritious food kit and Chandru Bondel gave away financial assistance to a specially abled child during the occasion.
