Swachata Programme, Vanamahotsav held

 

Mangaluru: Assistant Commissioner of Traffic M. A. Nataraj inaugurated the Swachata programme and Vanamahotsav of Mangalore North Traffic Police Station, Baikampady.

Speaking after the inauguration, he said that due to Covid Vanamahotsav was not celebrated last year and hence this time around the Police and Forest Department decided to plant saplings wherever there is an empty space which is appropriate for planting, he said.

Stating that symbolically Vanamahotsav programme has been launched, he said that soon planting of saplings in empty spaces will begin. Also, ??Panambur, and Baikampady area has rich nature and it is our duty preserve and protect the flora and fauna found in this region. Police department has taken up cleanliness drive to make this area more greener, he said and lauded the efforts of police staff in this regard.

Traffic Police Officer K. M. Sharif, Subinspector Yogesh and other traffic police staff were present.
