Family Reconciliation Event in Davanagere District Court
In a heartening turn of events, sixteen couples in Davanagere District, initially seeking divorce over minor disagreements, found reconciliation through the efforts of the Davangere District Family Court. Under the leadership of District Chief and Sessions Judge Rajeshwari N Hegde, the court facilitated a unique reconciliation process during the Rashtriya Lok Adalat.
Held nationwide and supervised locally by Judge Hegde, the event saw these couples opting to reconcile rather than proceed with divorces they had filed for. As part of the proceedings, the couples exchanged necklaces and shared sweets in the presence of the judge and representatives from the Bar Association and Legal Services Authority. This symbolic act marked their renewed commitment to each other.
Judge Hegde highlighted the significance of the National Lok Adalat, an annual judicial event aimed at resolving disputes through mediation. In Davangere alone, 16 couples resolved their marital issues, reflecting a broader effort that settled 8,800 cases across the country. The judge emphasized the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of such mediation processes in delivering swift justice and preserving relationships.
Among the couples reunited were Raziya Banu and Rasool, Syed Ghouse and Syeda Nishan Taj, Uday and Nagaratna, Shahrukh Darvez and Ruksana Banu, and Annakka and Bharamappa. Syed Ghouse Qadri, one of the husbands, expressed gratitude for the court’s guidance, emphasizing the importance of settling disputes amicably for marital harmony.
