The young and vivacious Roshmitha Harimurthy, has bagged a title of FBB Femina Miss India Bangalore 2016. The first and second runners-up Elizabeth Thadikaran and Sanjana GL were crowned at the pageant, respectively that held in Bangalore.

21-year-old, Roshmitha, has shared her thoughts and described her journey from being a model to a beauty queen to www.newskarnataka.com

Here are the excerpts:

Congratulations on your win.

How have the grooming sessions helped you move ahead in the competition?

Describing about the grooming sessions at FBB Femina Miss India pageant she says that being a model I had a natural confidence, which helped me during catwalks, still beauty pageants require a lot more than modelling such as behavioural etiquette matters to a great extent. Top model Alesia Raut polished our walk and her guidance helped a lot during rehearsals.

To whom would you attribute your success?

There were some moments when I was very nervous during the rehearsals; it was my mom who firmly supported me during this pageant. She was confident about my performances, even when my own confidence would go down. It was only her confidence in me that has brought me this wonderful win! I would say that my mom is the strongest pillar of my life.

Who is your role model?

It’s Angelina Jolie, I have seen many of her interviews and movies and the way she carries herself is what I love! She inspires me a lot.

Describe the important aspects to look beautiful?

First is a balanced diet. I do not restrict myself much while I eat, but I make sure that my meal should have controlled carbohydrates and protein. Second, working out is must, third I believe in myself that boost my optimism that makes my day and me beautiful.

Every pageant’s need is beauty with the brains! What was your exercise for your brain?

I believe in enriching myself and I keep updating myself with daily general affairs. I keep reading newspapers, articles, etc that boost my knowledge.

No one can be perfect in this world. At the pageants’ too they do not look for genius around, but they look for a person who has good awareness about the daily affairs. That’s all matters here!

Your future plans?

First, I would surely like to complete my masters in international business where I am pursuing its first year. After this, I will work hard to participate in the Femina Miss India next year and then Miss world pageants; if this does not materialise then I might settle in US and possibly continue masters in finance. Let’s see what’s in store for me.

Brief profile: Bengaluru based Roshmitha started her modelling career two years ago with a modelling agency in the city. This was her second attempt in the beauty pageants where in the first attempt she was not able to continue the contest rounds that were held in Mumbai, due her annual exams, whereas this time she hit-the-stroke when the final rounds were held in the state capital, which didn’t hamper her studies as well. Currently, she is pursuing her first year of master in international business.
