A Gurgaon-based CEO has sparked a wider conversation online after urging Indian parents to reconsider the long-held belief of building homes solely for their children’s future.

A dream that may not hold true anymore

In many Indian families, constructing a house is seen as a lifelong achievement, often done with the hope that the next generation will live there. However, the CEO questioned this idea, sharing a personal experience of his grandfather’s home—once full of dreams, now largely unoccupied.

He pointed out that while the house was built with expectations of family continuity, changing life paths led children to move away for better opportunities.
