Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 have a reason to get excited as Alex McKenna, the voice and motion capture artist behind Sadie Adler, has expressed her enthusiasm for returning in a potential sequel.
In an interview with The Sun, McKenna shared her deep connection to the character. “Sadie Adler is perhaps the greatest character I’ve ever played, so I would be absolutely honored, and I’m waiting for the call,” she stated.
However, her wait may be prolonged, as Rockstar Games has not yet announced Red Dead Redemption 3.
A character beloved by fans and its creator
Sadie Adler, introduced as a widow seeking vengeance for her husband’s murder, became one of the standout characters in Red Dead Redemption 2. Her evolution from grief-stricken survivor to a fiercely independent outlaw resonated deeply with players.
McKenna, reflecting on the character’s impact, highlighted her appreciation for the game’s storytelling. “I think storytelling is important because it allows people permission to actually feel their feelings,” she remarked. She also noted that the ability of a narrative to connect with audiences on an emotional level is what makes it memorable.
The legacy of Red Dead Redemption 2
Released in 2018 after an eight-year development cycle, Red Dead Redemption 2 was widely acclaimed for its immersive open-world design, intricate storytelling, and memorable characters like Adler. Since its launch, fans have speculated about the possibility of a sequel, though Rockstar has remained silent on the matter.
McKenna’s continuing passion for storytelling
McKenna’s dedication to storytelling extends beyond the game. She recently presented the Best Storytelling Award at the 42nd annual Golden Joysticks, underlining her admiration for narratives that evoke emotional connections.
For now, fans of Sadie Adler and the Red Dead series will have to keep hoping that Rockstar Games heeds the call for a sequel—and that McKenna gets her chance to reprise her role.
