New Delhi: Xbox Game Pass is adding another title to its November 2026 lineup, with minimalist kingdom-defence strategy game Thronefall confirmed to arrive on November 11. The game will launch alongside its Xbox Series X|S release and will be available through Xbox Game Pass on the same day.

Developed by Mythwright, Thronefall combines kingdom building, resource management and tower-defence mechanics. Players build and upgrade their kingdom during the day before defending it against waves of enemies at night.

The November addition comes as Microsoft’s subscription service continues to build its confirmed list for the final months of 2026. At present, Gravhounds is scheduled for November 2, while Thronefall is set for November 11.

Thronefall arrives on Xbox in November

Thronefall will be released for Xbox Series X|S on November 11, 2026, marking the game’s arrival on Microsoft’s console platform.

The title will also be available through Xbox Game Pass from launch day. Reports indicate that it will be accessible through both Xbox and PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support also planned.

The game originally gained attention following its PC release and subsequent arrival on Nintendo Switch. Its Xbox launch gives console players another opportunity to experience its streamlined strategy mechanics.

Unlike large-scale real-time strategy games that can involve lengthy campaigns and complex management systems, Thronefall is designed around a relatively straightforward gameplay loop.

Players spend the daytime preparing their settlement, upgrading buildings and recruiting troops. Once night falls, the focus shifts towards defending the kingdom against incoming enemy forces.

Build by day and defend by night

The central gameplay concept of Thronefall revolves around balancing economic development with defence.

Players collect and spend coins to strengthen their kingdom, improve fortifications and recruit soldiers. They must decide how to allocate their limited resources before the next wave of enemies arrives.

The player-controlled ruler is also able to participate directly in battles rather than simply commanding units from a distance. This adds another layer to the defence mechanics, as players can personally engage attacking forces while their troops defend strategic positions.

The game therefore combines traditional tower-defence elements with direct combat and kingdom management.

Craaghelm expansion arrives alongside the game

The Xbox release will also coincide with the launch of Craaghelm, a new expansion for Thronefall.

The expansion puts players in the role of the last Dwarven King, who must descend into a mountain and reclaim his ancestral halls from mechanical Constructs.

Craaghelm introduces new maps, enemies, perks and gameplay modifiers. The expansion is scheduled to launch alongside the Xbox and PlayStation 5 versions of the game on November 11.

The expansion will be sold separately, while the base game will be available through Game Pass at launch.

Strategy gameplay gets a roguelike twist

Beyond its main campaign, Thronefall includes additional gameplay options intended to extend the experience.

The game features higher difficulty levels and a roguelike mode, allowing players to approach the kingdom-defence formula in different ways. Gameplay-modifying mutators can also alter the conditions of individual runs.

The combination of upgrade systems, defensive planning and direct combat means players must repeatedly adapt their strategy as enemy attacks become more demanding.

The game’s relatively compact presentation is part of its design. Rather than focusing on highly detailed environments or a large open world, Thronefall uses a minimalist visual style and concentrates on its strategic gameplay systems.

November Game Pass lineup begins to take shape

Thronefall is currently one of the confirmed November 2026 additions to Game Pass.

Gravhounds is scheduled to arrive on November 2, followed by Thronefall on November 11. Other titles are also listed for the month, although Game Pass availability can depend on the specific subscription tier and platform.

Microsoft’s official Game Pass catalogue includes separate filters for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, Essential and PC Game Pass, as well as supported platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud gaming.

More November additions could therefore be announced before the month begins.

Xbox release comes ahead of GTA 6

The November schedule is also notable because several major releases are concentrated around the same period.

Thronefall arrives on November 11, while Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for November 19, 2026. The proximity of the two releases places Thronefall among the games launching during one of the year’s busiest periods for Xbox and the wider gaming industry.

For Game Pass subscribers, however, the strategy title offers an alternative to larger blockbuster releases, particularly for players interested in kingdom management and tower-defence gameplay.

What players can expect

With its November 11 launch, Thronefall will give Xbox players access to a strategy experience built around a simple cycle: establish the kingdom during daylight, prepare defences and then survive increasingly difficult attacks after nightfall.

The arrival of Craaghelm alongside the console launch will also expand the game’s content with a new dwarven setting, additional maps, enemies and gameplay options.

As more games are announced for Xbox Game Pass in November, Microsoft’s subscription lineup is expected to become clearer. For now, Thronefall is confirmed for November 11 across Xbox Series X|S and PC Game Pass, with cloud availability also reported.
