Thug Arrested for Machete Attack on Bus in Hassan

A local goon was taken into custody after he launched a violent attack on a private bus near the Bittagowdanahalli Bypass in Hassan, Karnataka. The shocking incident occurred around 2 AM on Thursday, leaving passengers terrified as the assailant wielded a machete and smashed the bus windows.

According to police reports, the accused halted the vehicle on the highway, retrieved the weapon from his car, and aggressively targeted the bus—seemingly attempting to harm someone inside. Panicked passengers remained inside the vehicle, with some managing to capture the dramatic scene on video.

Hassan City Police swiftly registered a case against the accused, booking him under multiple sections of the Arms Act. He was arrested shortly after and is now in police custody.

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and are expected to release further details as the probe continues. The incident has raised concerns over safety on highways, prompting calls for stricter law enforcement.
