Haveri: In a dramatic turn of events, police arrested the suspects in the murder of first-grade contractor Shivananda Kunnoor after shooting them in the leg during an encounter near Kondoji Cross in Hanagal taluk on Thursday.
The accused, Ashraf and Nagaraj Savadatti, were apprehended by Shiggaon Circle Inspector Sathyappa Malagonda and Sub-Inspector Sampath. According to officials, the encounter occurred within Adur Police Station limits after the suspects reportedly tried to flee.
Both suspects sustained bullet injuries and were initially treated at the Haveri District Hospital. They were later shifted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubballi, for further medical care. The operation was overseen by Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim and the swift police response.
