Haveri: District police cracked a high-profile theft case, arresting A. Jagadish (28) from OG Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, and recovering ₹30 lakh stolen from a car in Basaveshwara Nagar, Haveri.
The incident took place on March 6, 2025, when unidentified miscreants broke the window of a Kia Seltos, belonging to civil contractor Santosh Hiremath, and fled with cash. Following a complaint, police registered a case under BNS Section 303(2) at Haveri Town Police Station and launched an investigation.
Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar formed four special teams to track the culprits. Based on intelligence inputs, Jagadish was arrested on March 9 from his residence in Andhra Pradesh, and the stolen cash was seized. Officials are now pursuing other suspects involved in the crime.
The probe was led by Additional SP L.Y. Shirakol and DSP M.S. Patil, with multiple police teams assisting:
