Leave The Kids at home: Vacation hotspots for burned out parents

Parenthood is beautiful. Whatever be their age, watching them grow and nurturing them is a blessing. But it’s no cakewalk of course, and we soon learn to deal with the harsh, yet delightful truth of life: Kids will be kids. But let’s admit it, it can be overwhelming at times. And you feel the need to get away for a bit. It’s perfectly normal, and you totally must.

Yes, you will miss them, probably even feel guilt at first. But remember being a parent isn’t easy, so it’s important, and actually quite alright, if you gave yourself a little ‘me’ time – Maybe a quiet vacation without the kids, on your own or with your spouse/partner. Here are few vacation spots where you can relax, rejuvenate, and collect your thoughts:

Jamaica

It may be home to few world class athletes, but it’s also a great vacation spot and rather easy on the pocket. The Golden Eye resort, North Jamaica is where Ian Fleming penned all the 14 bond novels, and it’s the best chilling spot in all of Caribbean. Also noteworthy, is the Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay, an adults-only resort, which is basically a little universe of its own, packed with luxurious amenities. What say? Maybe a little getaway to Jamaica?

Maldives

Maldives is a timeless honeymoon spot. Maybe you could relive yours there? Do a little scuba diving, relax in private beach huts, and wake up to the sea every day, what say? Maybe do all of this at the Komandoo Maldives Island Resort, Maldives – where relaxing has a whole new meaning. Private patios, Jacuzzis, minibars and of course, the Infinity pool. There is literally nothing that could go wrong here!

Costa Rica

If beaches don’t do the trick, how about tropical rainforests? Costa Rica has done a great job reserving them, and over 25% of the country is forests and reserves. Maybe all you need right now, is to stay in a treehouse, absorb the abundance in nature, enjoy an afternoon by the hot springs, and to greet a few Ticos & Ticas with a Pura Vida! (Glad Tidings!) Costa Rica can be a bit edgy, but it sure is charming. But of course, to unwind, and not for a family vacation.

Pondicherry

With a little bit of 17th century France, unparalleled spirituality and laid-back beaches, Pondicherry may not be a foreign land, but it sure can feel like one. Thanks to Auroville, Pondicherry has a diverse populace from around the world. It’s a small union territory, and will take up only a weekend of your time, but it gives you plenty of good things to look forward to. Stay at the Pondicherry Promenade, right across the beach, or maybe in Auroville to experience a different way of life.

Ubud

Sounds like a college trip? Not really. Ubud is a calm, picturesque locale in Bali, Indonesia, and it’s perfect for relaxing and doing nothing. But you could enjoy a Balinese Massage, or maybe take a dig at the local art and music in Indonesia’s countryside. And when you’re done rejuvenating, catch a traditional dance show at the Puri Saren Palace, where the Royal family resides. Try the Spa/Pool indulgence at the FuramaXclusive Villas & Spa, or a jungle retreat’ at the Villa Pererepan, or something different; like glamping at Sandat.

We hope we’ve made a case that’s good enough. It’s time to find a babysitter, and start packing!
