Nestle Health Science Launches Nutritional Support Platform for Weight Loss

Nestle

Nestle’s health division launched a new website aimed at providing nutritional support for individuals engaged in weight loss programs, including those using GLP-1 medications.

Nestle Health Science stated that the website will cater to specific needs such as maintaining lean muscle mass, promoting gut health, and offering tailored dietary guidance.

With the increasing use of GLP-1 drugs for weight management, various telehealth companies have begun offering services to assist these individuals.

In June, Kroger Health, the healthcare arm of the Kroger grocery chain that operates pharmacies and clinics nationwide, revamped its weight management program to include medical treatments like Wegovy and Zepbound.

In May, health and wellness platform Hims Hers Health also added compounded versions of GLP-1 injections to its extensive weight loss offerings.

GLP-1 medications have surged in popularity and are in high demand across the U.S. These drugs, such as Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic and Wegovy, were originally created to treat type 2 diabetes but have proven effective for weight loss by curbing appetite and inducing a sense of fullness.

However, there have been sporadic shortages over the past year, with companies like Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, the maker of Mounjaro, working to increase supply.

The escalating use of these medications has led experts to forecast annual global sales reaching approximately $150 billion by the early 2030s.
