MANGALURU: Pradeep Nayak, a staff member at KMC Hospital, has been widely commended for his life-saving efforts that helped Mithun, a mild heart attack patient from Alake, Beltangady taluk, survive a critical situation.
After Mithun’s ECG report was sent to Pradeep by his relatives, he immediately consulted renowned cardiologist Dr. Padmanabha Kamath, who advised urgent hospitalization at KMC Mangaluru. As Mithun was being transported by car, Pradeep, who was traveling by bus to KMC, quickly adapted to the emergency.
When Mithun’s condition worsened near Punjalakatte, Pradeep got off the bus at Vagga, carrying emergency heart medication. He administered the drug, preventing a more severe attack. Pradeep also coordinated with KMC to arrange an ambulance, ensuring Mithun reached the hospital without delays despite heavy traffic.
Mithun underwent successful surgery at KMC and is now recovering well, as confirmed by Dr. Kamath. Remarkably, Mithun had not known Pradeep before this incident, making his timely and selfless intervention even more extraordinary.
Pradeep’s dedication has earned widespread public admiration, highlighting the critical role of healthcare workers in emergencies.
