A two-year-old girl, who went missing from her home in Vyalikaval, Bengaluru, was found safe after spending 20 hours with a destitute woman suffering from a mental health condition. The toddler had wandered 250 meters from her home, where she encountered the woman, whom she called “amma” (mother in Kannada). Moved by this, the woman kept the child close and, after attempting to wait for the parents, continued walking around the area, visiting temples and sleeping at the Kadu Malleshwara temple overnight. The following morning, she heard a conversation about the missing child and brought her to nearby women who helped notify the police.
