Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, shared an intriguing story from his early fitness days in an interview with Kamiya Jani, founder of Curly Tales. Reflecting on his journey, he revealed that he was once banned from a gym in Mumbai, which became a turning point in his career.
Allahbadia frequented New York Gym in Wadala, Mumbai, where he filmed his workout videos. To avoid distractions, he shot content at 2 pm daily. However, as his popularity grew, so did resentment among some gym trainers. Allahbadia mentioned, “The trainers were angry with me because I was growing. So, they banned me from the gym.” Despite this setback, he viewed it as an opportunity to innovate. When the gym eventually shut down, he set up his own home workout space, which proved crucial during the COVID-19 lockdown, keeping his content flowing.
Today, BeerBiceps has grown into a fitness brand with over 8 million subscribers, and his main channel, which includes podcasts and motivational talks, boasts nearly 10 million subscribers.
