ICICI Bank Employee Dies by Suicide in Bengaluru; Family Blames Workplace Harassment

A senior employee of ICICI Bank, Vivek Samdarshi, tragically died by suicide in Bengaluru, with his family accusing the bank’s senior officials of workplace harassment and extreme work pressure. Vivek, who was the Regional Head of Sales at ICICI Bank, had been with the company for over five years.

Vivek’s elder brother, Vikash, has filed a police complaint at Thalaghattapura Police Station, naming Raghu Kumar, the Regional Head of ICICI Home Loan Department, and John Joseph, the Zonal Head of ICICI Bank Home Loan Department, as those responsible for allegedly abetting the suicide. According to the complaint, the victim was subjected to severe stress and bullying at work, with one senior official allegedly telling him, “If you can’t perform, you should die.”

The family claims that this toxic work environment contributed to the tragic outcome. Authorities are now investigating the case, and police have begun proceedings based on the filed complaint.
