A young boy, Prince Kumar (10), originally from Bihar, tragically lost his life after collapsing inside the washroom of a school in Verna on Tuesday.

According to medical reports, he suffered a stroke due to internal brain bleeding, which extended to the lateral ventricle, confirming that his death was due to natural causes.

School staff discovered the child lying motionless in the toilet and immediately sought medical help. Initially, he was rushed to South Goa District Hospital, but as his condition worsened, he was transferred to Goa Medical College (GMC) for advanced treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he passed away while under medical care.

The Verna police have classified the case as an unnatural death and are conducting further inquiries. The investigation is being led by PSI Carry Fernandes, under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and DySP Gurudas Kadam.

The shocking incident has raised concerns about children’s health awareness in schools. While the cause was deemed natural, the sudden deterioration of the young student’s health has left the community deeply shaken. Authorities are urging schools to be more vigilant about students’ well-being.
