Jammu Kashmir: Thirteen students fell unconscious after accidentally inhaling pepper gas spray on Thursday. The incident occurred due to an accidental leakage from a self-defense kit that contained pepper gas spray, provided to the girls during a recent self-defense program organized by an outside organization.

According to school officials, the pepper gas spray had been separated from the kits and kept under school custody. However, a few girls managed to obtain the kits, including one girl who had the pepper spray in her bag. The leakage occurred in her bag, spreading the pepper gas in the classroom and causing 13 girls to lose consciousness. Prompt action was taken, and the affected students were swiftly transferred to District Hospital Handwara for medical treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of District Hospital Handwara, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad, assured that all the girls were safe and received appropriate medical care. Following treatment, all the girls were discharged from the hospital, alleviating concerns about their well-being.
