A tragic incident in Greater Noida West has claimed the life of a three-year-old child, who fell from the 12th-floor balcony of a residential building, leaving residents in shock and raising concerns over child safety in high-rise apartments.
The incident occurred at Gaur City 7th Avenue under the Bisrakh police station limits on Saturday.
Accident during brief absence of parent
According to initial reports, the toddler was playing in the balcony when he accidentally slipped and fell from the high-rise building. At the time, the child’s mother had reportedly stepped out briefly to drop another child to a tuition class, leaving him alone at home.
Neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing screams and immediately alerted authorities.
Child declared dead on arrival
The child was quickly taken for medical assistance, but doctors declared him dead. Police officials reached the scene soon after and took custody of the body, which has been sent for post-mortem examination.
