Bilaspur: A Delhi-Bilaspur Alliance Air flight had a frightening moment during landing at Bilaspur airport on Friday when one of its tyres suffered a puncture. However, quick action by the pilots and airport personnel ensured that all 41 people on board were safely evacuated.
Tyre bursts as aircraft lands
The incident involved Alliance Air flight 9I613, which was carrying 37 passengers and four crew members. According to officials, the aircraft developed a problem with its left-side tyre while landing at Bilaspur airport.
The flight had travelled from Delhi and landed safely enough for the pilots to bring the aircraft to a controlled halt on the runway. Officials subsequently evacuated all passengers and crew members and moved them safely from the runway to the terminal building.
There were no reports of injuries among the passengers or crew, turning what could have become a serious aviation emergency into a narrow escape.
Onward flight cancelled
Following the incident, the airline cancelled the flight scheduled to operate onward from Bilaspur. Officials said further details were awaited as the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the tyre failure were assessed.
The incident once again highlights the importance of swift coordination between pilots, airport authorities and emergency teams during unexpected situations.
For the 37 passengers who had boarded the flight expecting a routine journey from Delhi to Bilaspur, the landing became an alarming experience. Their safe evacuation, however, brought relief to families and others awaiting their arrival.
