Amid heightened vigilance after the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian security forces have arrested eight individuals suspected of spying for Pakistan’s ISI. The arrests span Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, with serious implications for national security.

Arrested Individuals and Their Alleged Roles:

  • Jyoti Malhotra (Hisar, Haryana): A 33-year-old travel vlogger behind the YouTube channel Travel with JO, accused of sharing military data with Pakistan. She had traveled to Pakistan at least twice and was reportedly being cultivated as an asset by ISI handlers.

  • Davender Singh Dhillon (Kaithal, Haryana): A 25-year-old political science student from Patiala, arrested after uploading gun images. He allegedly shared photos of military zones, including Patiala cantonment, following a Pakistan visit last year.

  • Nauman Ilahi (Panipat, Haryana): A 24-year-old security guard, originally from UP, suspected of receiving funds through his brother-in-law to transmit sensitive data to Islamabad.

  • Arman (Nuh, Haryana): A 23-year-old held for allegedly passing information during escalated tensions with Pakistan. Officials claim concrete evidence exists.

  • Shahzad (Rampur, UP): A businessman involved in smuggling and sharing strategic data. He had made several trips to Pakistan.

  • Mohammad Murtaza Ali (Jalandhar, Punjab): Caught by Gujarat Police for allegedly using a self-developed mobile app for espionage. Multiple phones and SIMs were recovered.

  • Gazala and Yamin Mohammad (Punjab): Their arrests are tied to similar charges involving communication with Pakistani handlers.

  • These developments follow Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam attack, and Pakistan’s retaliatory missile strikes. A May 10 ceasefire ended a tense standoff.
