Bhind, MP: An eight-year-old boy, Rohit, tragically died on Tuesday after a dilapidated brick wall collapsed on him near his school in Gandhinagar, Gwalior. The incident occurred as Rohit, a Class 1 student of Rishri Gyan Mandir School, tried to jump over the weak boundary wall while returning home. The entire episode was caught on CCTV, revealing the moment the wall suddenly crumbled, fatally injuring the child.
Rohit was rushed to the district hospital by family and locals but was declared dead upon arrival. He is survived by his parents and two brothers.
The wall stood on a vacant plot owned by Bhanupratap Singh, which residents claim had been neglected despite multiple warnings. The area, frequented by children playing on a nearby swing, had long posed a danger.
Locals are now demanding strict action against the landowner for negligence. Police have launched an investigation, and Rohit’s body was sent for a post-mortem before being handed over to his grieving family.
