Abducting actor Mushtaq Mohammad Khan and planning Shakti Kapoor’s kidnapping
Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have apprehended four individuals involved in the abduction of actor Mushtaq Mohammad Khan at the Delhi airport. The kidnappers held him captive in Bijnor while demanding a ransom. The group, led by a man named Lavi (also called Rahul Saini), had also devised a plot to abduct renowned actor Shakti Kapoor by inviting him to a fraudulent event.
The incident came to light when event organizer Shivam Yadav filed a report on December 9. He stated that Lavi had sent Khan Rs 25,000 along with a plane ticket for a supposed event in Meerut. Upon arriving at Delhi airport on November 20, Khan was taken by a taxi to a popular ‘shikanji’ shop. From there, he was forcibly transferred into another vehicle by several individuals, who then informed him of his abduction and transported him to Lavi’s residence.
During his captivity, the abductors accessed Khan’s banking information and withdrew funds. After a night of drinking, the gang fell asleep, allowing Khan to escape. He found refuge in a mosque in Mohalla Chahshiri, where local residents helped him contact his family.
The criminals, identified as Sarthak Chaudhary, Sabiuddin, Azim, and Shashank, were arrested, and Rs 1.04 lakh was recovered. Their scheme involved tricking celebrities with fake event invitations. The police are still searching for Lavi and other gang members.
