Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): Terming demonetisation as a disaster, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called for the abolishment of the Rs. 2000 denomination notes and instead suggested making digital currency, which the current government could not implement properly.
Addressing a party workshop on Wednesday (September 5). he said blamed the Centre for not providing funds and creating hurdles to Amaravati’s development.
“Construction of capital city- Amaravati is going on at a fast pace. High Court buildings will be ready by the end of this December. Amaravati bonds received an overwhelming response. The central government is not giving the money. When we try to generate funds on our own, they are making unnecessary allegations,” the Chief Minister said.
Naidu further stated that his government had introduced many projects: built 10 lakh farm ponds and started interlinking of Godavari and Krishna rivers.
He also said that his government would be releasing a new scheme for the unemployed on October 2 and repeatedly stressed on the point that the Centre was not cooperating.
The Chief Minister urged his party member to keep the welfare of the communities in mind so that they feel comfortable under their government.
