The Kundapura police have apprehended 29-year-old Musin Saheb, a resident of Kandlauru Kavradi, who had been evading the law for several years. Saheb was arrested at the Goa airport after he arrived from abroad, following a tip-off.
Back in 2017, Saheb had been granted bail by the Kundapura court, but he neglected to attend court proceedings and went into hiding. Despite multiple attempts by the authorities, he failed to respond to summons, prompting the court to issue 13 arrest warrants against him over the years.
Authorities suspected he may have fled the country, and in response, they issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) for his capture. Acting swiftly on the lead, the police were able to track his movements and take him into custody as he landed at Dabolim Airport.
The arrest marks a significant development in a case that had been pending for several years. Saheb’s failure to comply with legal proceedings led to his flight from justice, but his capture demonstrates the relentless efforts of the police to bring him to trial.
A case has now been filed at the Kundapura Rural Police Station in connection with the arrest.
