Veteran actor Achyut Potdar, widely remembered for his role as a professor in 3 Idiots, passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 91. He breathed his last at Jupiter Hospital in Thane, where he had been admitted due to health complications. The exact cause of death has not been disclosed. His final rites will be performed in Thane on August 19, 2025.
Potdar’s demise is considered a major loss for Indian cinema. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he acted in both Hindi and Marathi films and television shows.
