Actor Mushtaq Khan shares shocking kidnapping ordeal on Delhi-Meerut highway
Actor Mushtaq Khan, renowned for his role in Welcome, has revealed the terrifying details of his recent kidnapping, which took place on the Delhi-Meerut highway. Khan was allegedly lured with a false invitation to attend an award show in Meerut on November 20, only for the situation to take a sinister turn. His business partner, Shivam Yadav, spoke to India Today Digital about the ordeal, revealing how Khan was deceived into boarding a car that would take him far from Delhi.
Khan, who was promised flight tickets and an advance payment for attending the event, landed in Delhi and was subsequently driven to a secluded area near Bijnor. There, he was held hostage for nearly 12 hours, enduring torture at the hands of his kidnappers, who demanded a ransom of one crore rupees. Despite their threats, the kidnappers only succeeded in withdrawing Rs 2 lakh from Khan’s and his son’s bank accounts.
According to Shivam, Khan managed to escape after hearing the morning azaan. Realizing a mosque was nearby, Khan seized the opportunity, fled from the location, and sought help from locals. With the assistance of police, Khan was safely returned home.
Shivam confirmed that an official FIR has been filed, supported by evidence including flight tickets, bank transaction records, and CCTV footage. He believes the culprits will soon be apprehended. This incident echoes a similar case involving comedian Sunil Pal, sparking concerns about a potential syndicate targeting celebrities under the guise of event invitations.
