Air India Flight Delayed for Hours, Passengers Left Frustrated
Passengers on board an Air India flight from Chennai to Delhi faced significant inconvenience on Tuesday, after a technical snag led to an extended delay. According to TV reports, the unexpected issue caused hours-long disruption, leaving travelers either stranded inside the aircraft or waiting at the terminal with no clear information about the revised departure time.
Frustration mounted among passengers, many of whom took to social media and news outlets to express their anger over poor communication from airline staff. “No updates, no clarity. We were just kept waiting,” said one passenger who was later deboarded along with others.
The delay, though reportedly caused by a technical fault, highlighted growing concerns over service standards at the airline, especially coming just a day after comedian Vir Das criticized Air India for a previous uncomfortable travel experience.
As of now, Air India has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. It remains unclear whether passengers were rebooked on other flights or compensated for the inconvenience.
This latest episode has reignited the debate on passenger rights and airline accountability, with many calling for mandatory compensation for significant delays.
A poll circulating online asks: “Should airlines compensate passengers for long delays?” – a question that seems increasingly relevant amid growing dissatisfaction with domestic air travel.
