Delhi: An Air India flight bound for Singapore from Delhi on September 10 was delayed due to a cabin cooling issue before departure, the airline confirmed. Flight AI2380 eventually departed at 05:36 hrs IST after a replacement aircraft was arranged. Passengers were regularly updated throughout the delay and provided with assistance, including meals and refreshments, by ground staff at Delhi airport.
Delay due to technical issue
According to an Air India spokesperson, the delay occurred because of a cabin cooling malfunction detected while the aircraft was still on the ground. The airline emphasised that passenger safety and well-being remained its top priority.
“Flight AI2380 operating from Delhi to Singapore on September 10 was delayed due to a cabin cooling issue on ground prior to departure. Passengers were regularly kept informed of the delay and our ground colleagues in Delhi extended all support to passengers at the airport, including providing refreshments and meals. The flight departed at 0536 hrs IST after a change of aircraft,” the spokesperson said.
Air India also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and reassured that all measures were taken to minimise discomfort.
Special flights to Kathmandu amid unrest
Meanwhile, Air India announced it is operating special flights between Delhi and Kathmandu to assist passengers stranded due to ongoing protests and unrest in Nepal. The flights are scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday to ensure smooth travel for affected passengers.
In a post on X, Air India said: “Air India is operating special flights today and tomorrow from Delhi to Kathmandu and back to help passengers who have been stranded due to the recent developments in Nepal. Our scheduled operations will also resume from tomorrow.”

IndiGo resumes Kathmandu operations
In a related update, IndiGo announced the resumption of its flight services to and from Kathmandu following the reopening of Tribhuvan International Airport, which had temporarily closed amid protests.
