In a tragic turn of events, Air India pilot Shrishti Tuli from Uttar Pradesh died by suicide in her Mumbai apartment on the night of November 24-25. Her family has accused her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, of harassing her, including pressuring her to stop eating non-vegetarian food. The couple had a dispute at an event, which allegedly led to Tuli’s drastic decision.

Following the incident, police arrested Pandit, and he has been remanded to four-day custody for investigation. Authorities confirmed that Tuli, from Gorakhpur, hanged herself with a data cable in her Kanakia Rain Forest building flat in the Marol area after a heated argument with Pandit, who lives in Delhi.

Tuli’s family, particularly her uncle Vivek Tuli, claims that her boyfriend had been blackmailing her and extorting money. He noted that around ₹65,000 was transferred to Pandit’s family during Diwali, leading him to believe the financial strain contributed to her distress. “I suspect she refused to give him more money, which could have triggered her death,” he said.

Tuli, the first female pilot from Gorakhpur, had been living in Mumbai since June last year for work. Before the suicide, she and Pandit had a quarrel, and she reportedly called him to express her intention to end her life. Pandit rushed to Mumbai, but by the time he reached, it was too late. No suicide note was found at the scene.
