Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her first Instagram post after her husband Abhishek Bachchan thanked her during an emotional acceptance speech at the 70th Filmfare Awards 2025.

Abhishek, who won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) award for his performance in I Want to Talk, shared the honor with Kartik Aaryan for Chandu Champion. Overcome with emotion, he said:

“This year marks 25 years in the film industry, and I cannot remember how many times I’ve practised a speech for this award. This has been a dream, and I’m just so touched and humbled. To Aishwarya and Aaradhya, thank you for allowing me to go out and follow my dreams. I hope that by winning this award, they see that their sacrifices have been one of the main reasons I stand here today.”

Abhishek’s memorable night

The Filmfare Awards night was unforgettable for Abhishek. In addition to his Best Actor win, he paid a heartfelt tribute to his father, Amitabh Bachchan, on his 83rd birthday. Abhishek performed a medley of Big B’s iconic songs, ranging from energetic hits to soulful classics, which moved the audience and left his mother, Jaya Bachchan, visibly emotional.

During the performance, Abhishek paused to embrace his mother, holding her hand, dancing briefly, and placing a tender kiss on her forehead. He was also seen sharing warm moments with his sister, Shweta Bachchan, throughout the evening. Fans noted Aishwarya’s absence from the awards, sparking conversations online about the star couple.
