Mukesh Ambani, accompanied by his family, recently participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, where millions of devotees gathered for this revered religious festival. The family’s attendance garnered attention, not only due to their prominent business influence but also because of their engagement in this significant spiritual event.
A Sacred Pilgrimage to Triveni Sangam
According to reports, Mukesh Ambani arrived at the event with his mother, Kokilaben Ambani, and his sons, Akash and Anant. Akash’s wife, Shloka Mehta, and their children, Prithvi and Veda, were also present. The family made their way to Arail Ghat, where they boarded a boat to partake in sacred rituals at Triveni Sangam, the holy confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river.
Traditional and Elegant Attire
In keeping with the religious significance of the occasion, the Ambanis dressed in traditional attire. Mukesh and Anant wore matching blue kurtas, while Akash stood out in a multicolored version. Shloka Mehta donned an elegant white Anarkali suit, and little Prithvi and Veda looked adorable in coordinated teal outfits, presenting a unified family appearance.
End of Kalpvas and Magh Purnima Celebrations
The Kalpvas tradition of the Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, is concluding with the observance of Magh Purnima. Devotees participating in Kalpvas stay at the grounds, partaking in spiritual practices like the sacred dip. As the event nears its end, thousands of more pilgrims are expected to attend the final rituals.
Earlier Visit by Anil Ambani
Earlier, Mukesh’s brother, Anil Ambani, and his wife, Tina Ambani, also visited the Mela. A video showed them in white kurtas as they prepared for the holy dip, accompanied by a police escort to ensure their safety.
Large Crowds and Special Arrangements
The Maha Kumbh Mela has attracted a massive influx of visitors, surpassing the anticipated 450 million pilgrims. With the Magh Purnima rituals approaching, local authorities have put in place special arrangements to manage the crowds, including adjusting traffic plans.
A Spiritual Bond
The Ambani family’s participation underscores the festival’s significance as not just a spiritual event for millions, but also a moment for prominent figures to engage with India’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
