Amit Shah calls upon cadre to get ready for  solo fight, Sena annoyed

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah while addressing the booth-level cadre in Latur asked the party workers to be prepared to fight the elections alone in Maharashtra assembly polls. This is another indicator to the worsening ties and a deepening rift between the BJP and the Shiv Sena.

According to reports, Amit Shah asked his cadre to be prepared so that if any alliance takes place then their preparation would be helpful to their partner’s candidates. He expressed his doubts regarding an alliance with Shiv Sena and also told that they might fight alone.

As per News 18 reports Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a closed-door meeting said the party president would take a call on the alliance. “We have to prepare to fight alone. We will fight on all 48 seats, and will win at least 40,” he said.

However, it has not gone down well with the Sena, which said the BJP’s position shows its arrogance. “You don’t want Hindutvavadis. With this statement, you have shown that you would rather enter into an alliance with EVMs.”

The Sena added, “We are used to attacking those who attack us. This state will show you defeat. The people of the country have already started showing them the way, with the results of five state polls.”

The Shiv Sena in its editorial Sanman launched scathing attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi complaining that one crore nine lakh youth have lost their jobs in the last year. These figures by CMIE are in contrast to what PM Modi claimed in his interview last week. The hands of the youth which elected BJP to power, are now itching to pull them down.

The Sena has now threatened the BJP  saying that it would oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 in Parliament. This has added ghee to the burning fire of uneasy relationships between the two parties since last four years.
