New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah, on Friday visited PM Narendra Modi to discuss the roadmap for the nation-wide lockdown, which is in place owing to the Corona pandemic.
The lockdown 4.0 is due to end in two days and the two leaders are said to have discussed on possibilities of moving on to Lockdown 5.0.
It may be recalled that Shah, on Thursday evening spoke to several Chief Ministers and gathered their opinion on the lockdown.
Many states have suggested that Lockdown 5.0 is necessary as cases of COVID-19 are only increasing across the country.
Goa CM Pramod Sawant, on Friday hinted that the Ministry of Home Affair may extend the lockdown till June 15.
Coronavirus cases in India saw the highest spike on Friday, two days before Lockdown 4.0 comes to an end. India recorded 7,466 coronavirus cases while the total cases crossed 1.65 lakh and death toll went past 4,700.
Earlier, sources had said PM Modi is likely to announce Lockdown 5.0 in his radio address Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, which is also the last day of Lockdown 4.0.
