Jammu: On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, asserting that Article 370 has become “history” and will not be reinstated in the Union Territory.

During a press conference in Jammu, Shah emphasized that the past decade has been pivotal for both the country and J&K, and urged voters to support the BJP to ensure the continuation of effective governance. He is on a two-day visit to Jammu to launch the BJP’s campaign for the assembly elections, which are slated to take place in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1.

Addressing concerns raised by the National Conference, Shah made a clear statement about Article 370, stating, “This Article has been removed from the Constitution and will never make a return. It only served to arm the youth and facilitate their involvement in terrorism.”

Shah also reassured that the reservations granted to Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Pahadis will remain protected, despite any opposition. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir and announced that a white paper will be released to identify those responsible for the rise of terrorism in the region.

In his appeal to the electorate, Shah urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote for the BJP, promising a focused five-year plan aimed at the region’s development and prosperity.
