An Amritsar-based software engineer, Preksha Mahajan, was taken by surprise when she received a reply to her email from her school  teacher—nearly nine years after she had sent it. The email, initially sent in 2016, had a subject line that read, “Good evening ma’am, I am Preksha of class VII-H. I made this flower on Adobe Illustrator.”

Fast forward to March 1, 2025, and Preksha got a response from her teacher: “It was beautiful. Sorry for being late.”

Preksha shared the unusual incident on X, prompting social media users to flood the comments with witty responses. One user jokingly asked, “Was she using Internet Explorer?” while another humorously remarked, “Still faster than that girl replying to me.” One commenter even suggested, “She’s in the wrong job, her skills would make her an exceptional HR professional.”

Despite the nine-year delay, the teacher’s email certainly made an impression—though not in the way Preksha had originally anticipated.
