Mumbai: In a shocking incident, an NRI woman was attacked by a waiter with a knife at a hotel in Mumbai’s J B Nagar. The woman has alleged that she was attacked as she placed several orders during the course of the meal.
The woman, Farzana Mirat (30) had come from South Africa on Sunday morning and was celebrating her anniversary along with her mother at the hotel. According to the police, Mirat placed many orders and called the waiter Nishant Gowda (23) around six or seven times for this purpose. After the meal, Mirat ordered a cake, which was brought to her without a knife. When she asked the waiter to fetch her a knife to cut the cake, annoyed, he went into the kitchen, brought out a knife and attacked her, according to the police.
Mirat reportedly received a cut on her neck during the incident.
Gowda was irritated by the way Mirat had called on him and placed her orders, according to the police.
He has been arrested and booked under IPC Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
