New Delhi: An Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv with seven people on board, including Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, made a forced landing due to technical reasons in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday, an army statement said.

The statement clarified that it was not a crash landing and all the seven persons onboard were safe.

The landing happened in the general area of Poonch, said the statement.

“A helicopter with Army Commander Northern Command on board, has executed a forced landing on account of technical snag in general area of Poonch. Crew and passengers are safe,” the Indian Army said in the statement.

Sources, however, said a few of the crew members were injured during the landing.

Teams have rushed to the spot and an investigation into the incident has begun.
