A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Arunachal Pradesh where a father travelling to Bengaluru to meet his daughters was found dead in Andhra Pradesh days after he went missing during his journey.
Kamlo Mophuk, 51, a resident of Lazu village in Tirap district, had boarded a train from Tinsukia on May 16 to visit his daughters living in Bengaluru. However, the journey took a tragic turn after he reportedly became distressed during travel.
Father reportedly feared for his safety
According to reports, Mophuk told his family that some unidentified persons were following and threatening him during the train journey. Fearing danger, he got down at Ongole Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh and allegedly approached local authorities for help.
In his last conversation with daughter Ngona Mophuk, he reportedly sounded frightened and said his phone battery was about to die. Soon after, all contact with him was lost.
Family searched desperately
His daughters in Bengaluru and relatives back home searched frantically for several days while seeking help from police and officials. The matter later gained attention after intervention from Arunachal Pradesh minister Wangki Lowang.
Mophuk’s body was eventually found near a cemetery in Andhra Pradesh, leaving the family devastated.
Questions raised over response
The incident has triggered emotional reactions online, with many questioning whether quicker action could have helped trace him earlier. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
