A heart-wrenching incident in Noida’s Sector 55 has shocked the community, where a 10-year-old boy with autism was allegedly mistreated by a special educator at Green Ribbon International School. The disturbing incident was exposed when a video of the alleged assault was accidentally shared in a WhatsApp group for parents and school officials, quickly going viral.

The boy’s father, distressed by the video, filed a complaint with the police, naming the accused educator, Anil Kumar, along with the school principal, vice-principal, and other personnel. The father, whose son is a Class 1 student, emphasized that his child is specially-abled and needs extra attention, which was neglected by the educator. The video reportedly showed Kumar mishandling the child, leading to public outrage.

As a result, the accused special educator was arrested, and the school was sealed. An FIR was registered under various legal provisions, including the Juvenile Justice Act and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the school lacked official recognition, prompting authorities to take additional legal measures.

Rahul Panwar, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Gautam Buddha Nagar, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the school’s recognition would be revoked. The case has raised serious concerns about the treatment of children with disabilities in educational institutions, highlighting the need for stricter safeguards.
