A 56-year-old autorickshaw driver, Satheeshan, tragically lost his life after falling into a 50-foot well at his home in Kakkammoola near Kalliyoor on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 5:30 pm while Satheeshan was sitting on the parapet of the well, casually chatting with family members. He lost his balance and fell in, prompting immediate calls to the Vizhinjam fire and rescue services.

Rescuers retrieved him swiftly, but he was declared dead before any medical assistance could be provided. His body was later moved to Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The Nemom police have registered a case and are investigating if structural instability of the parapet played a role in the accident.

Satheeshan is survived by his wife Sheela, son Sreejith, and daughter Ranjitha. His body was handed over to the family following the postmortem.
