New Delhi: ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ is now known to all after a video of the sad plight of the elderly couple struggling to make a living out of the eatery went viral a few weeks ago.
However, the Dhaba is in news again and this time the owner, Kanta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi have filed a complaint against Instagram-YouTube influencer Gaurav Wasan, the man who shot the first video of the stall that gave the couple overnight fame.
In the complaint, Kanta Prasad has said that Gaurav Wasan used their videos to ask for donation from the social media community and misappropriated those funds.
Gaurav Wasan has allegedly shared only his family and friends’ bank account numbers without the knowledge of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ owners Kanta Prasad and his wife.
In his complaint to police, Kanta Prasad has said Gaurav Wasan shot his video and posted it online and convinced the public on social media to donate money to the eatery owner.
The owner of the food joint also accused the YouTuber of not providing details of the financial transactions to him.
The complaint was registered with the Malviyanagar police.
A day after the heartbreaking video, #Babakadhaba was trending on Twitter and the food joint was flooded with more customers than it had seen in 30 years of being in business.
