Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:
In a significant enforcement action, the Bareilly administration conducted demolition and sealing operations targeting properties linked to individuals associated with the recent ‘I Love Muhammad’ protests.

On October 4, 2025, bulldozers were deployed to demolish ‘Raja Palace,’ a marriage hall owned by Dr. Nafees Ahmed. The structure was razed due to alleged violations of building norms. Simultaneously, a residence connected to Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, the head of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council and a central figure in the protests, was sealed.

These actions are part of a broader crackdown following the violent clashes on September 26, where protests escalated into stone-pelting incidents, injuring several police officers. Authorities have since arrested over 80 individuals, including Raza, who remains in judicial custody. The administration has also suspended mobile internet services for 48 hours to prevent further unrest.

Local residents have expressed concerns over the fairness of these measures, alleging that the demolitions and property seizures disproportionately affect the minority community. The authorities maintain that the actions are in line with legal and regulatory frameworks.

The situation remains tense, with ongoing monitoring and additional enforcement actions anticipated in the coming days.
