The Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) at IIM Kozhikode, originally launched in 2001 as India’s pioneering digital management course, is now undergoing a significant structural overhaul, driven by a spike in admissions — predominantly from Bengaluru and other top-tier cities.
Initially designed to offset geographical constraints and provide working professionals with access to premier business education, the programme has matured into a two-year, immersive leadership pathway. Its latest format includes global exposure modules, business plan execution, and flexible digital learning, making it ideal for mid-career executives aiming for top-level roles. The average participant experience has risen to a decade, reflecting the programme’s growing credibility.
Bengaluru has emerged as a key contributor, forming the bulk of admissions, as over 90% of enrollees now hail from Tier I metros. Southern states, especially Karnataka, represent nearly 30% of total enrolments. Impressively, women constitute 26% of the current batch, with most aspiring to break into leadership positions in competitive sectors.
Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee noted that IIM Kozhikode is actively realigning the programme’s framework to serve its expanding, diverse cohort and aims to become India’s go-to destination for executive learning.
Bolstering this mission is LIVE, the institute’s incubator fostering entrepreneurship. LIVE has supported over 50 startups, covering areas like AI, robotics, and healthcare innovation, and was initially launched to boost Kerala’s startup landscape.
