The first day of Bhaav: The Expressions Summit 2025, India’s largest arts and cultural summit, kicked off with a spectacular launch by the Art of Living. The event unveiled Sita Charitam, India’s largest live performance and art gathering, featuring a stunning blend of 500 artists and 30 dance, music, and art forms. The concert will travel to 180 countries and include a unique dialogue derived from more than 20 volumes, with songs sung in various regional languages.
Bhaav 2025 presented a powerful display of India’s diverse cultural heritage, including an emotional Bharatnatyam performance by 10 transgender artists from West Bengal. The audience was also treated to lively performances by the ‘Out of the Box’ music band from the Art of Living’s Arise group, which includes former prisoner artists. The event was marked by captivating performances, such as Kavya Muraleedharan’s Bharatnatyam, a Kathak performance by three generations of dancers led by Kathak maestro Manisha Sathe, and a heartwarming Ram Bhajan presented by 30 artists.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who graced the event as the guest of honor, described the celebration as an unforgettable experience. “It was truly wonderful to experience this mega celebration of cultural wealth and ambassadors of Bharat,” he shared on X, attended by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and other eminent personalities like Padmashree Manjamma Jogathi and Chitraveena N Ravikiran.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the lighting of the lamp and the recitation of shlokas. The Art Awards 2025, presented by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, honored distinguished artists such as 94-year-old veena maestro R Visvesvaran, mridangam scholar A Anand, Yakshagana hero Bannage Survan, and Garba artist Atul Purohit for their lifetime contributions to Indian art.
