Patna: As many as 34 girl students were injured after a mob forced its way into their residential school in Trivenigunj, Bihar and beat them up. All the injured students were moved to a hospital after the incident.
Reportedly, the attack was a result of an altercation that occurred between some of the girls and a few boys who had snuck into the girls’ school premises. According to eyewitnesses, some of the girls spotted a few local boys sneaking onto the campus. When they were asked to leave, the boys began to misbehave forcing the girls to beat them in self-defence.
According to police, the boys later returned with their parents and relatives and barged into the school’s premises. They surrounded the campus and beat the girls up with sticks. Over two dozen people were in the mob that attacked the school.
An FIR has been filed in this regard, but no arrests have been made yet.
