Two tech-savvy graduates from Villupuram ran a stealthy year-long bike theft racket across Chennai—without ever breaking a lock or drawing suspicion. Posing as food delivery agents, they roamed residential areas, identifying luxury bikes parked outside homes.

Once a target list was ready, Arjun (22) would return at night to quietly ride away with the chosen bikes—often worth over ₹3 lakh each. Their strategy was calculated: avoid areas with CCTV, and hit neighbourhoods without security guards.

To stay off the radar, they never stored stolen bikes in one place. Instead, they parked them in quiet interior spots near parks and closed deals directly with college students, many of whom didn’t know the bikes were stolen.

Arjun used his technical background to disable GPS trackers and communicated via encrypted platforms, making digital tracing nearly impossible. His partner, Kabilan (24) from Anna Nagar, oversaw sales. He provided forged documents and even allowed test rides to make deals convincing—cutting out second-hand dealers to avoid scrutiny.

The duo’s methodical planning helped them stay undetected for nearly a year, even as theft complaints rose across areas like Anna Nagar, Arumbakkam, and Koyambedu.

The Anna Nagar crime wing arrested both men earlier this week and seized five premium bikes. Cops suspect they stole and sold over 12 bikes. Buyer identities are being verified, and police are probing whether any stolen vehicles were used in other crimes.
