Ranchi: Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader and son of party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, took to Twitter on Sunday morning stating that the “authoritative BJP” wasn’t allowing him to meet his father.
Convicted in fodder scam cases, Lalu Prasad is presently admitted at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi for medical treatment and is allowed a maximum of three visitors a day. Hospital sources say that he is suffering from several ailments and is unwell.
In his tweet in Hindi, Tejashwi said, “I have been waiting to meet my father who has been admitted at the Ranchi hospital since last evening, but the authoritative BJP government is not even allowing a son to meet his father as per the rules.” He also alleged that there was a conspiracy at play as there have been searches conducted in the ward where Lalu Prasad is admitted.

Reportedly, since mid-March, there have been at least three surprise inspections in Lalu Prasad’s ward, all turning up empty. While the government sources say that the searches are a way to review the security detail, the RJD has alleged that it is merely a ruse to make it look like Yadav Sr. is a serial offender.
If reports are to be believed, Lalu Prasad has been running the party from his ward and was also involved in the seat-sharing discussions and the selection of party candidates for the election. However, the party leaders who have been visiting the party supremo have clarified that they are merely checking up on their chief.
