Lucknow: The Lal Bathis may be done away with, but the arrogance embedded in the netas is far from leaving them. In an incident holding mirror to high-handedness of the elected representatives, an MP from Barabanki reportedly threatened to skin an Assistant Superintendent of Police alive. The mistake of the ASP was that the MP disliked the police officer’s attitude!
MP in question, Priyanka Singh Rawat repeated the threat without any regrets when reporters contacted her for clarification.
“I will get all the malai out…… khaal bhi khichwa loongi (I will get all the illegal wealth seized and also skin you alive),” Rawat reportedly told ASP Gyananjay Singh over phone.
As per reports, the lawmaker had called the ASP to talk about a murder investigation and the police officer had told her that he knew what he was doing. This probably irked Rawat.
“We have Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the centre and Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh. Only those who perform will stay in this district. If their conduct doesn’t improve, then we will take strict action and their record will be checked,” the lawmaker warned.
This is the second such incident this week involving a BJP lawmaker.
State BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya has said that Rawat has been warned and asked to behave responsibly.
